John Stamos once wanted the Olsen twins fired from the original Full House series. Playing the charismatic Uncle Jesse, the actor spent a considerable amount of time sharing the screen with the show’s young cast. And while the character has had his one-on-one moments with each of her nieces, he was closest to the youngest Tanner daughter, Michelle, with whom he shared many memorable moments with.
Stamos was known for being great with kids, which was why he was perfect for the role of the cool uncle type who had fun with his nieces in Full House – a clear juxtaposition from the girls’ typically straight and boring dad, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), but a bit more serious than Joey (Dave Coulier). Through the years, he’s had many interactions with DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle, and as the kids grew, he, too, evolved into a more mature individual who wanted his own family. Even when he got his own twins – Alex and Nicky (Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit) – he remained close with the girls, particularly Michelle.
