The HGTV star was surprised to be dining at the same restaurant as her estranged husband, 7 months after their split

Christina Haack can’t get away from her exes!

The Flip Off star, 41, revealed she had an awkward run-in with her estranged third husband Josh Hall while dining at a restaurant on Monday, Feb. 24. Detailing the encounter on her Instagram Stories, Christina can be seen clinking glasses with her 14-year-old daughter Taylor and her costar (and Taylor’s stepmom) Heather Rae El Moussa, 37. 

“When you’re having a relaxing GNO with @heatherraeelmoussa and Tay and 🐍 shows up at your spot,” Christina writes over the boomerang. On the table, menus for the Newport Beach, Calif. restaurant, Ocean 48, can be seen.

Christina’s use of the snake emoji appears to be a dig at Josh, who tagged the same restaurant in his Instagram Stories while out with friends on the same night. 

“Little surf and turf with this crew,” he captioned a photo of him and his pals seated at a table. 

The unexpected run-in comes seven months after Christina and Josh split following nearly three years of marriage.

Josh filed for divorce from Christina in July 2024 citing “irreconcilable differences.” He also requested spousal support, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE

The breakup has been playing out in the public eye on social media. In October, Josh denied he had requested $65,000 per month in spousal support from the HGTV star. She later claimed on an episode of The Flip Off that he wanted $3.5 million from her.

In Christina’s new HGTV series, which Josh was also supposed to appear in before their split, the designer shared the divorce update.

A scene in the Feb. 8 episode showed her working alongside her partners, contractor Michael Lange and designer Kylie Wing, when Lange asked her if she had court coming up soon. 

“Court? Oh it got postponed because he made a horrible offer,” Christina replied, referring to Josh. “He asked for $3.5 million from me.”

During the premiere of The Flip Off, viewers witnessed a tense conversation between the exes in which Josh tells Christina he wishes she would “shut up.”

In response to the scene, Josh took to his Instagram Stories to say that it was all “manufactured drama.” Christina fired back at her exes’ claims by sharing a photo of herself crying in her car after filming the series with Josh back in June 2024. 

The mom of three has seen her fair share of heartache.

he British TV host, 45, was another one of Christina’s exes who appeared on The Flip Off in a Feb. 19 episode, where he was a guest judge.

While Christina now relies on Lange and Wing to help her beat her competition, Josh still appeared in a few scenes at the beginning of the show to provide context for their breakup.

A few weeks before the series premiered at the end of January, PEOPLE confirmed on Jan. 11 that Christina was in a new relationship and businessman Christopher Larocca. Around the same time, it was revealed that Josh was also dating someone new, model Stephanie Gabrys.
