VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies released a dashcam video describing it as a Florida Highway Patrol trooper’s “split second away from tragedy.”
The FHP trooper was responding to a driver who had struck a deer early Sunday morning on Interstate 95 when another driver nearly ran him over.
The video also shows a Volusia deputy moving out of the way of the moving sports utility vehicle right before it plowed into a sergeant’s parked patrol SUV and the car that had struck the deer.
